EESTEC is an organization of and for electrical engineering students from universities, institutes or schools of technology in Europe that award an engineering degree.
The primary aim is to promote and develop international contacts and exchange ideas, as well as improve the technical knowledge of electrical engineering students. The association also aims to introducing students to the industry and the educational system of other countries.
It numbers 34 members (Local Committies - LC) in 22 European Countries, with a constant willingness to welcome new members. In Greece there are 2 Local Commities, in Athens (LC Athens) and in Patras (Junior LC Patras).
The primary goal of Local Commities is students' exchange and the organization of workshops on topics related to the studies of Electrical Engineering and Computer technology. Every Local Commity organises a week of seminars with the participation of Students from the Universities of the other European Contries participating in eeStec. Apart from the seminars sightseeing, parties and ather cultural events are included. Seminars are held by University Professors and members of the local industry.
All the above demand money! So, considering that everything is free for eeStec members our funds are raised by grants and sponsorships offered to the Local Committee by local authorities and local industries.
EESTEC LC Patras was formed in 2007 with the passion of 5 undergraduate students of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the University of Patras.
